The Perfect Putt is about a professional golfer (Miles Day) and his new assistant (Ellie Hart). From the very beginning, Ellie says what she feels and doesn’t try to suck up to Miles. His celebrity status means nothing to her, and she doesn’t even like golf!

Synopsis:

Golf is for rich, pretentious jerks who need something to do while they gossip.

That’s always been my opinion. So when my best friend lands me an interview with Miles Day–the youngest golfer to ever win the Masters–I almost say no.

But the six-figure salary attached to the position is too good to pass up.

Miles gives me the job as his assistant, with one caveat–don’t fall in love with him. Easy. So easy that I laugh in his face when he so much as suggests the possibility.

Except… the more time I spend with Miles, the harder it is to resist his charming smile and glittering green eyes.

Catching feelings for him isn’t an option though, because I have goals to reach, and he has an aversion to commitment. Falling in love would be a mistake, one neither of us are willing to make.

Book Review

Thank you to the author for the ARC of The Perfect Putt by Annah Conwell. All opinions are my own.

After reading the first book in the More Than a Game series (The Golden Goal) and absolutely loving it, I was so excited to read The Perfect Putt.

This book did not disappoint! It was amazing all around, and I read the whole book in a day because I didn’t want to put it down.

Thoughts

I loved the tension between these two characters because Ellie didn’t think Miles was that cool, and Ellie was not at all how Miles expected her to be. I loved seeing them get to know each other and learn that their misconceptions were not actually true.

The friendship they built before becoming romantically involved was really sweet. They took really good care of each other and cared about each other’s feelings.

This book also had some of my favorite microtropes, but I won’t spoil them for you.

If you read The Golden Goal, then you’ll love the inclusion of Sutton and Shaw in this story. They were a lot of fun and still couldn’t keep their hands off each other.

This story is also low in conflict. I appreciated that their issues didn’t go unresolved for very long because that always stresses me out.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I loved this story and think you will too if you enjoy sweet, closed-door romances.
